Beautiful Geodes and Nodules

These photos show some recently purchased nodules and geodes purchased from a Rock and Mineral Show in Anderson, California.

Geodes are sphere-shaped stones, usually at least partially hollow. Geodes are often lined inside with sparkling crystals or concentric layers of minerals.
A geode is a sphere shaped rock which contains a hollow cavity lined with crystals. A geode
which is completely filled with compact crystal formations, such as agate, jasper or chalcedony is called a nodule. The only different between a geode and a nodule is that a geode has a hollow cavity, and a nodule is solid.

I'll be soldering these into my next project. I like to pull together all kinds of glass and found objects in my designs to create an edgy, original, and intricate piece of glass work.
