Commission finished - FINALLY

This commission was waiting a year and a half before it was finally completed. The original idea, came from the customer who had seen another piece I created years ago called,"Crystal Cathedral". The customer wanted to incorporate her Grandmother's antique chandelier into the piece. I was able to accomplish this by using pieces of the original sconces and the lead crystals which hung freely as they once did in the chandelier.
Each window has over one hundred and thirty hand foiled, fluxed and soldered cut glass pieces. There is also antique glass from the Aldridge Hotel incorporated within the design. The customer has a sky light and in this particular shot you can see the sunlight coming through.

WOW!!! What a beautiful work.......I bet the person you commissioned it for
was pleased and excited to see the finished product and to have her
grandmothers glass incorporated is precious and a treasure for sure. What
a relief for you to finish it, Congrats to you and the A-team. Looks like
they were a very helpful bunch. Great accomplishment....

Beautiful work! I read your blog post about the Red/Gold Maze as well and it sounds
like such a success! To sell that piece have someone come back for it only to get
another sale and commission - awesome! Maybe someday I will be able to commission a
work! :) My favorite piece of yours is the one in the turquoise frame with the
flowers; I would love to own something like someday!

What a job! You've also created a wonderful memory for the "A" Team.
It's great that Mother and Daddy could be a part of this. The panels are
beautiful! They seem more conservative than your usual work. I like the
idea of using the chandelier pieces. What a wonderful transformation from
the past to the present... to the future. It makes me think that there are
possibilities for those pieces to once again transform in the future. It would
be neat if you could transport through time and get a reaction from the
creator of the chandelier? Hmmm....
